Mental Health Services

Services often take many different forms, and are as unique as each person who comes to ELTH. Some people prefer to do their work in private, some prefer the support of a group setting in the form of weekly group, a day workshop or weekend retreat.  Either way, we will make sure you feel comfortable and safe, and all services are set up to be confidential.  We will make sure you are treated with love & respect in a safe and nurturing environment.

One-on-One Session: (Av. 1.5 hours )

A One-on-One sessions is for an individual, a couple, or a family.  One-on-One sessions are held with a gestaltist, a horse (weather permitting) and a handler if one is available.

In a one-on-one session, you will join your gestaltist and a horse to explore any issues that come up for you.  Your gestaltist and the horse(s) are there to listen and assist you in finding your own answers and help you become more aware of the behaviors, thoughts, feelings and beliefs that may be getting in your way or causing you problems.  Then they will help you clear each of those, leave them in the arena sand, and move forward.

If you are working with a therapist, they are welcome to come and observe as well.  Please bring a pen, journal and bottle of water.  Wear closed toed shoes and dress in layers, as we do sometimes get dirty and the weather can change fast.

Weekly De-stress Group: (1-2 hours)

Weekly De-stress group evenings are for anyone who would like a weekly reminder of how to manage and move away from stress and pain and more towards peace and happiness in your life.  We currently have two weeky groups, one for women only and one that is co-ed.  Both are held on site, at ELTH, in a comfortable, rural setting, all year long, inside or out depending on the weather.

The benefit of joining a weekly group is to gain support and understanding from your peers.  You will create meaningful connections with others and we often focus on topics such as reducing stress, managing anxiety, self discovery, better understanding yourself and others, improving communication and creating goals, and creating visions and purpose in your life.

Please bring a pen, journal and bottle of water.  Wear closed toed shoes and dress in layers, as we do sometimes get dirty and the weather can change fast.

Phone Coaching: (1/2 hour)

Phone Coaching usually follows after a “one-on-one” session, but is also used if you are unable to come to the facility at ELTH for a session.  You will be coached over the phone once a week for approximately half an hour.  Then follow-up with the horse(s) when your if you are able.

Much like with a “one-on-one”, you can work through difficult issues and learn how to create positive growth and change in your life, all from the comfort of your own home.  Your coach is there to listen and assist you in finding the answers you need and help you become more aware of the behaviors, thoughts, feelings and beliefs that may be getting in your way or causing you problems in your life, so you can clear those and move forward.

Day Workshops & Retreats: (1-3 days)

Workshops and Retreats are for specific groups of people such as families, co-workers, volunteer groups, a group of friends or a group that has something in common, such as Couples, Caretakers, Parents with Teens, Emergency Service Providers, Military Personell etc.

Common benefits from a workshop or retreat are:  Lower Stress, Reduced Anxiety, Improved Communication, Finding Answers, Dealing with Difficult Issues, Finding Connection and Common Ground, Conflict Resolution, Teamwork, Insight into others etc.  This is the most comprehensive and life changing service ELTH offers.

These 1-3 day workshops and retreats are held on site, at ELTH, in a comfortable, quiet, rural location, usually on a weekend.  Groups are limited to 8-10 people.

Please bring a pen, journal and bottle of water.  Wear closed toed shoes and dress in layers, as we do sometimes get dirty and the weather can change fast.
